To celebrate CERN’s 60th anniversary, come and take part in the many activities organised by the CERN Clubs from 23 to 29 June! All activities are free of charge.

Monday, 23 June 2014

12.15 p.m. to 1.30 p.m.: Vinyasa Yoga class on the lawn in front of Restaurant 1, by the Allée Pierre Auger. This class will help bring you closer to your inner being, improving your powers of concentration and your awareness and acceptance of your inner self.

4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.: Exhibition organised by the MicroClub in Building 567/R-021. Attractions will include a 3D printer and Lego robots.

5.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Frisbee tournament on the lawn in front of Restaurant 1.

Mini-tournament for 4 teams. Teams can register online. The final team rosters will be e-mailed to the team captains. Sign up here.

4 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.: Exhibition organised by the MicroClub in Building 567/R-021. Attractions will include a 3D printer and Lego robots.

4 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.: Exhibition organised by the MicroClub in Building 567/R-021. Attractions will include a 3D printer and Lego robots.

6 p.m. to 8 p.m: The Robotics section of the MicroClub will organise a robot competition in Restaurant 1. Open to all members of CERN.
 

Thursday, 26 June 2014

4 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.: Exhibition organised by the MicroClub in Building 567/R-021. Attractions will include a 3D printer and Lego robots.

5.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.: The Football Club will organise the final of the CERN Outdoor Football Tournament at the Saint-Genis-Pouilly football ground.

Bring along your friends, family and guests to celebrate with us. In addition to the final and 3rd-place games of our tournament, you can watch an exhibition match for the arriving summer students and test out your own football skills on the famous German "Torwand". Food and drinks will be provided.
 

Friday, 27 June 2014

4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.: Exhibition organised by the MicroClub in Building 567/R-021. Attractions will include a 3D printer and Lego robots.

4 p.m.: Conference By Energy Floors in building 216, explaining the technology behind their human-powered floor systems.

5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Fit-Boxers vs. Zumba® fitness. Which of the two activities helps us burn the most calories? Come and try two fantastic activities proposed by the Fitness Club on the Sustainable Dance Floor, sign up here.

5.30 p.m. – 7.30 p.m.: “DJClub" and "ElectroClub", 2 bands from the CERN MusiClub, will perform a two hour DJ session of electronic music on the terrace of Restaurant 1 from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. We will create a chilled atmosphere on Friday after work. Three DJs will play different DJ sets of Chilled House, Electro and Deep House. If you are an electronic music lover and/or just fancy a different evening out, then this is your event. Everybody is very welcome.

 9 p.m.: The CERN Dancing Club are organising a Great ALL STYLES Dancing Party (Argentine Tango, Salsa, Rock, Quickstep, Waltz, Cha Cha, Pasodoble, etc.) on the “energy floor”, in the Pump Hall, (B216). Participation is free, but you must sign up. Please fill in the inscription form.

1 p.m. – 2.30 p.m.: Cardio Fitness with Germana

How many calories can we burn with Germana's energetic Cardio Fitness session? Sign up here for FREE and find out!

2 p.m. to 8 p.m.: The CERN MusiClub is organising Music on the Lawn, an informal concert featuring CERN musicians and bands, on the terrace of Restaurant 1 and will feature many styles of music ranging from blues to rock and jazz. Programme here.

3p.m. to 4p.m.: Zumba® for Kids

Dance with your kids on the Sustainable Dance Floor, pause for some face painting, and check how much energy you have used to light up the floor! N.B. All children must be accompanied by their parent(s) at ALL TIMES. Subscribe here.

8 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Zumba® Master Class

Put on your dancing shoes and come and shake it with Marco, Mariel, Rachel & Véronique. Download the sponsorship form and get your friends and family to sponsor you for the total number of calories burned - all money raised will be donated to the Staff Association’s Collectes à Long Terme fundraising group. The number of places is limited, so sign up quickly here.

2 p.m.: The CERN Games Club invites you to attend its weekly board gaming session in Restaurant No.1. They have a huge collection of board games of different varieties and are always happy to explain games to new players. For any questions, please feel free to write to games.club@cern.ch.
