Performance of the ATLAS RPC detector and Level-1 muon barrel trigger with a new CO2-based gas mixture / Su, Shixiang (Hefei, CUST) /ATLAS Collaboration
Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) are used in the ATLAS experiment for trigger on muons in the barrel region. The current RPC detectors operate with a Freon-based gas mixture containing C2H2F4 and SF6, both of which have a high global warming potential. [...]

Studies of F- impurities formation in ALICE MID RPC detectors: A comparison between LHC RUN2 and LHC RUN3 / Verzeroli, Mattia (IP2I, Lyon) ; Arena, Maria Cristina (Pavia U.) ; Ferretti, Alessandro (U. Turin (main) ; INFN, Turin) ; Gagliardi, Martino (U. Turin (main) ; INFN, Turin) ; Guida, Roberto (CERN) ; Mandelli, Beatrice (CERN) ; Quaglia, Luca (INFN, Turin) ; Rigoletti, Gianluca (CERN) ; Terlizzi, Livia (U. Turin (main) ; INFN, Turin)
The ALICE Muon Identifier (MID) system consists of 72 single-gap Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) detectors, operated with a gas mixture of C2H2F4, iC4H10, and SF6 at a ratio of 89.7%/10%/0.3%, along with 37% of relative humidity. The combined effects of background irradiation and the electric field within the detector’s gas gap, together with the high concentration of fluorinated gases used, result in the production of F− ions and F-based impurities. Mass production of RPC readout panels for ATLAS Phase-II upgrade and R&D; on thin gas gap production at USTC / Du, Dongshuo (Hefei, CUST) /ATLAS Muon Collaboration
In order to accommodate the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, the current ATLAS Muon system needs a significant upgrade during the Long Shutdown-3. For the muon trigger, three layers of thin-gap Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) will be added to the Barrel Inner (BI) region. [...]

Studies toward reduction or replacement of CF4 in the CMS CSC working gas mixture / Kuznetsova, Ekaterina (Florida U.) /CMS Muon Collaboration
Cathode Strip Chambers (CSC) are used for precise measurements of muon track coordinates in the CMS endcap region. CMS CSCs operate with 40%Ar+50%CO2+10%CF4 as a working gas mixture, where the CF4 component provides reliable protection against anode wire aging sufficient for operation during the HL-LHC period. Front-End Prototype ASIC with Low-Gain Avalanche Detector Sensors for the ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector / El Dine Hammoud, Salah (IJCLab, Orsay) /ATLAS HGTD Collaboration
Timing measurements are critical for the detectors at the future HL-LHC, to resolve reconstruction ambiguity when the number of simultaneous interactions reaches up to 200 per bunch crossing. The ATLAS collaboration therefore builds a new High-Granularity Timing detector for the forward region. [...]

Design and optimizations of electrostatic low energy intense beam transport for H$^{-}$ ion source in LINAC4 at CERN / Jakhar, Niketan (Nehru U.) ; Kumar, Sarvesh (IUAC, New Delhi) ; Thakur, Chandan (Nehru U.) ; Kashyap, Sandeep (Amity U., Sch. Eng. Tech. ; Indian Inst. Tech., New Delhi) ; Sharma, Jyotsna (Delhi Tech. U.) ; Kashyap, Manish K (Nehru U.) ; Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN)
Abstract The electrostatic low energy beam transport (ELEBT) is used to handle low energy and intense beams from ion sources. It is preferred over magnetostatic low energy beam transport (MLEBT) for many reasons such as compactness, no space charge compensation and no transverse phase space coupling, more beam current handling capacity and less emittance growth as well as beam losses. Electron correlation and relativistic effects in the excited states of radium monofluoride / Athanasakis-Kaklamanakis, M (CERN ; Leuven U. ; Imperial Coll., London) ; Wilkins, S G (MIT ; MIT, LNS) ; Skripnikov, L V (Unlisted) ; Koszorús, Á (CERN ; Leuven U.) ; Breier, A A (Berlin, Tech. Highly accurate and precise electronic structure calculations of heavy radioactive atoms and their molecules are important for several research areas, including chemical, nuclear, and particle physics. Ab initio quantum chemistry can elucidate structural details in these systems that emerge from the interplay of relativistic and electron correlation effects, but the large number of electrons complicates the calculations, and the scarcity of experiments prevents insightful theory-experiment comparisons. Neutron activation as benchmark for cross section evaluations: Demonstration through the MACS of 50Cr for nuclear technology applications / Pérez-Maroto, P (Seville U. ; CNA, Seville) ; Guerrero, C (Seville U. ; CNA, Seville) ; Fernández, B (Seville U. ; CNA, Seville) ; Casanovas-Hoste, A (CERN ; Barcelona, Polytechnic U.) ; Stamati, M E (CERN ; Ioannina U.)
Neutron cross section libraries often differ with each other due to the limited availability of differential cross section data from time-of-flight experiments. These are indeed challenging, requiring state-of-the-art facilities and detectors, as well as an involved data analysis. [...]
