Comparison of ATLAS and CMS nominal $\mathrm{t}\mathrm{\bar t}$ Monte Carlo simulation for Run 2 /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
A preliminary study is performed to compare the Monte Carlo simulation of $\mathrm{t}\mathrm{\bar t}$ events at 13 TeV employed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. The study focuses on the nominal settings used in each experiment, consisting in interfacing Powheg-box with Pythia8 (v 8.230) using the corresponding ATLAS and CMS experimental tunes. [...]

Tau Lepton Run 2 Trigger Performance /CMS Collaboration
Triggers selecting events with hadronically decaying tau leptons $\tau_h$ are used in a wide variety of CMS analyses, in particular those targeting processes with a $H \rightarrow \tau\tau$ decay. The performance of the $\tau_h$ triggers is presented for data collected in Run 2 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137.1 fb$^{-1}$ at 13 TeV, and compared with simulation..

Performance of the CMS Drift Tubes at the end of LHC Run 2 /CMS Collaboration
This note summarizes the performance of Drift Tubes (DT) at the end of 2018 data-taking. Results are shown for efficiency of hit detection, track segment reconstruction, trigger primitive generation. Trends of these efficiencies were also checked as a function of integrated luminosity (or time) and of instantaneous luminosity, in order to spot any effects of degradation caused by detector ageing or by background, respectively. Figures for present DT space and time resolution are also presented. This set of plots is proposed as reference for future Run 3 data-taking..

DeepCore: Convolutional Neural Network for high~$p_T$ jet tracking /CMS Collaboration
A Convolutional Neural Network-based algorithm, DeepCore, has been developed to improve the tracking performance in the jet cores regions. The DeepCore algorithm performs the seeding for the Combinatorial Kalman Filter of the CMS reconstruction in high energy jet cores using the informations of the four pixel detector layers. [...]

Phase 1 Pixel Material Budget /CMS Collaboration
This note describes the material budget simulation studies relative to the CMS phase 1 pixel detector. The results show the breakdown of the total material budget in different categories (active material, support structure, electronic boards, cables, and cooling) and the comparison with the previous phase 0 pixel detector..

Medipix3RX based network of detectors for ambient radiation measurements in the CMS cavern /CMS Collaboration
Precise measurements of the spectral composition of the radiation present in and around the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) cavern located on the LHC experiment are essential to determine the operation of the sub-detector systems and to predict their useful lifetimes. The key objective of the CMS-Medipix network is to evaluate this mixed radiation field - especially of the slow and fast neutrons. [...]

Adversarial Neural Network-based data-simulation corrections for heavy-flavour jet-tagging /CMS Collaboration
Variable-dependent scale factors are used in heavy-flavour jet-tagging to improve shape agreement of data and simulation. The choice of the underlying model is of great importance, but often requires a lot of manual tuning e.g. [...]

Precision measurement of the structure of the CMS inner tracking system using nuclear interactions with data collected in 2018 /CMS Collaboration
The structure of the CMS inner tracking system has been studied using nuclear interactions of hadrons striking its material. Data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded in 2018 at the LHC are used to reconstruct millions of secondary vertices from these nuclear interactions [...]
