MPGD-based Hadronic calorimeter for a future experiment at Muon Collider / Longo, Luigi (INFN, Bari) ; Buonsante, Marco (INFN, Bari) ; Colaleo, Anna (INFN, Bari) ; Generoso, Lisa (INFN, Bari) ; Maggi, Marcello (INFN, Bari) ; Pellecchia, Antonello (INFN, Bari) ; Radogna, Raffaella (INFN, Bari) ; Simone, Federica Maria (INFN, Bari) ; Stamerra, Anna (INFN, Bari) ; Venditti, Rosamaria (INFN, Bari) et al.
The International Muon Collider Collaboration has proposed a multi-TeV muon collider as a powerful tool to investigate the Standard Model with unprecedented precision, after the High-Luminosity LHC era. However, muons are not stable particles and it is of extreme importance to develop technologies able to distinguish genuine hits, originating from particles created in collisions, from hits due to the background radiation induced by the beam itself. SMOG: a high-density gas target experiment at LHCb / Lucarelli, Chiara (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) /LHCb Collaboration
Owing to the injection of gas into the LHC beampipe while multi-TeV proton or ion beams are circulating, the LHCb spectrometer has the unique capability to function as the as-of-today highest-energy fixed-target experiment. The resulting beam-gas collisions cover an unexplored energy range that is larger than previous fixed-target experiments, but below RHIC or LHC collider energies. [...]

Deep Learning applied to VBF Higgs Boson in the $b\overline{b}$ channel: a study of Neural Networks impact on High Energy Physics analysis / Brianti, Greta (Trento U. ; Fond. Bruno Kessler, Trento ; INFN, Trento ; CERN)
In this research, we investigated the influence of a Fully Connected Deep Neural Network (FCN) for signal-to-background classification on a sample of Vector Boson Fusion (VBF) Higgs bosons decaying into b-quark pairs. The FCN improves the identification of the signal events overwhelmed by the QCD background. [...]

The CMS Fast Beam Condition Monitor at the HL-LHC / Dienemann, Nick (CERN ; Karlsruhe U.) ; Dalavi, Vahid Sedighzadeh (Isfahan U.) /CMS Collaboration
To face the heightened requirements of real-time and precision bunch-by-bunch luminosity de- termination and beam-induced background monitoring at the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), the CMS BRIL project constructs a stand-alone luminometer, the Fast Beam Condition Monitor (FBCM). It will be fully independent from the CMS central timing, trigger and data acquisition services and able to operate at all times with a fast triggerless readout. [...]

Charmed hadron properties and spectroscopy at LHCb / Saur, Miroslav (Peking U.) /LHCb Collaboration
The LHCb experiment at LHC is a multipurpose detector in the forward region with a special focus on heavy--flavour physics. Designed as a single-arm forward spectrometer covering the pseudorapidity range $2 < \eta < 5$, \lhcb can provide vertexing, tracking information, particle identification (PID) of charged particles and energy measurement. Preliminary results on the study of 237Np(n,f) at n_TOF/EAR2 in energies related to nuclear waste transmutation / Stamatopoulos, Athanasios (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) /n_TOF Collaboration
The accurate knowledge of neutron-induced fission cross sections of isotopes involved in the nuclear fuel cycle is essential for the optimum design and safe operation of next generation nuclear systems. Such experimental data can additionally provide constraints for the adjustment of nuclear model parameters used in the evaluation process, resulting in a further understanding of the nuclear fission process. The LHCb SciFi Tracker / De Freitas Carneiro Da Graca, Ulisses (Rio de Janeiro, CBPF ; CEFET, Rio de Janeiro) /LHCb Collaboration
The LHCb Experiment completed its first major upgrade and is running for LHC Run 3 and beyond, improving on many world-best physics measurements. Some of the LHCb sub-detectors and the experiment read-out system have been re-designed, raising the experiment's luminosity data acquisition limits and - consequently - expanding its statistical accumulation rates. L1Topo: The Level-1 Topological Processor for ATLAS Phase-I upgrade and its firmware evolution for use within the Phase-II Global Trigger / Meuser, Emanuel (Mainz U.) /ATLAS TDAQ Collaboration
The instantaneous luminosity of the LHC in Run 3 is increased up to $2.3\cdot10^{34}\,cm^{−2}s^{−1}$, bringingthe need for the upgrade of the ATLAS detector, including the trigger system. The new Phase-ITopological Processor (L1Topo), which replaces its Phase-0 predecessor, processes data from thejet, electromagnetic, and global Feature Extractors and the upgraded Muon to Central TriggerProcessor Interface to perform topological and multiplicity triggers.
