High-precision mass measurements of stable and beta-decaying nuclides $^{52-57}$Cr, $^{55}$Mn, $^{56,59}$Fe, $^{59}$Co, $^{75, 77-79}$Ga, and the lanthanide nuclides $^{140}$Ce, $^{140}$Nd, $^{160}$Yb, $^{168}$Lu, $^{178}$Yb have been performed with the Penning-trap mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN. The new data are entered into the Atomic Mass Evaluation and improve the accuracy of masses along the valley of stability, strengthening the so-called backbone. [...]

Nuclear charge radii of $^{62−80}$Zn have been determined using collinear laser spectroscopy of bunched ion beams at CERN-ISOLDE. The subtle variations of observed charge radii, both within one isotope and along the full range of neutron numbers, are found to be well described in terms of the proton excitations across the $Z=28$ shell gap, as predicted by large-scale shell model calculations. The neutron-deficient mercury isotopes serve as a classical example of shape coexistence, whereby at low energy near-degenerate nuclear states characterized by different shapes appear. The electromagnetic structure of even-mass $^{182-188}$ Hg isotopes was studied using safe-energy Coulomb excitation of neutron-deficient mercury beams delivered by the REX-ISOLDE facility at CERN. Hyperfine structure and nuclear magnetic moments of the praseodymium isotopes {135,136,137}^Pr / IS517 Collaboration
Collinear laser spectroscopy was applied to measure the hyperfine structure of {135−137}^Pr at ISOLDE/CERN. Combined with measurements of the stable isotope {141}^Pr at the TRIGA-SPEC setup in Mainz we were able to determine the magnetic moments of the neutron-deficient isotopes {135}^Pr, {136}^Pr and {137}^Pr for the first time..

We report on high-precision $Q_{\textrm{EC}}$ values of the $^{21}$Na$\rightarrow^{21}$Ne and $^{23}$Mg$\rightarrow^{23}$Na mirror $\beta$-transitions from mass measurements with ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN. A precision of $\delta m/m = 9 \cdot 10^{-10}$ and $\delta m/m = 1.5 \cdot 10^{-9}$ was reached for the masses of $^{21}$Na and $^{23}$Mg, respectively. [...]

We report on the lattice location of low-fluence ion implanted 124In in single-crystalline 3C-SiC by means of the emission channeling technique using radioactive isotopes produced at the ISOLDE/CERN facility. In the sample implanted at room temperature to a fluence of 4 × 1012 cm−2, 60(9)% of the In atoms were found slightly displaced (0.12–0.20 Å) from substitutional Si sites, with the remainder occupying sites of low crystallographic symmetry, the so-called random sites. Due to its rich variety of electromagnetic properties, such as a colossal magnetoresistance, charge and orbital ordering, and metal-insulator transition, the magnetic behavior in La0.5Ba0.5MnO3 double perovskite compounds has been investigated by several techniques, however more experimental data, especially from atomic resolution techniques, are still necessary to understand such complex behavior. In this paper, we have used a nuclear and short-range technique, the Perturbed Angular Correlation (PAC) spectroscopy, to investigate the magnetic hyperfine interaction at the 140Ce and 111Cd probe nuclei as impurities occupying La sites.
