A Forward Calorimeter (FoCal) in the ALICE experiment
/ALICE Collaboration
We discuss a forward electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeter (FoCal) as a possible upgrade to the ALICE experiment, which could be installed during LS3 for data-taking in 2026–2028 at the LHC. The FoCal is a highly granular Si+W electromagnetic calorimeter combined with a conventional sampling hadronic calorimeter covering pseudorapidities of 3.2 < $\eta$ < 5.8. [...]

Second order event plane dependence of jet-hadron correlations in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV
/ALICE Collaboration
In the paper linked to this note, we reported the yields, yield differences, yield ratios, widths of jet-hadron correlations relative to the reaction plane in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 2.76 TeV for reconstructed jet transverse momenta 20 < $p_{\rm{T}}^{\rm{jet}}$ < 40 GeV/$c$ as a function of the angle between the reconstructed jet and the reaction plane. A sample correlation function was shown in the paper for associated particles with momenta 20 < $p_{\rm{T}}^{\rm{assoc}}$ < 40 GeV/$c$. [...]

ALICE upgrade physics performance studies for 2018 Report on HL/HE-LHC physics
/ALICE Collaboration
This document describes the new ALICE performance studies carried out for the CERN Yellow Report of the 2017-2018 HL/HE-LHC Physics Workshop. Studies for light nuclei and hyper-nuclei, flow observables, heavy flavour, quarkonium, low-mass dileptons and photons, jets, Z bosons and photoproduction are presented, for Pb-Pb, p-Pb and pp collisions at high multiplicity [...]

ALICE 2017 luminosity determination for pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 5 TeV
/ALICE Collaboration
Luminosity determination in ALICE is based on visible cross sections measured in van der Meer scans. In November 2017, the Large Hadron Collider provided proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}$ = 5 TeV. [...]

Expression of Interest for an ALICE ITS Upgrade in LS3
/ALICE Collaboration
Recent innovations in the field of silicon imaging technology for consumer applications open extraordinary opportunities for new detector concepts, and hence offer strongly improved physics scope. This document presents a proposal for the construction of a novel vertex detector consisting of curved wafer-scale ultra-thin silicon sensors arranged in perfectly cylindrical layers, featuring an unprecedented low material budget of 0.05 % $X_{0}$ per layer, with the innermost layer positioned at only 18 mm radial distance from the interaction point. [...]

Radiation Dose and Fluence in ALICE after LS2
/ALICE Collaboration
This note reports radiation calculations referring to the upgraded ALICE detector after the second Long Shutdown (LS2). The simulations are obtained using the FLUKA transport code and take into account the recently measured multiplicities of Pb-Pb, p-Pb and pp collisions. [...]
