IPPOG (International Particle Physics Outreach Group) is an international network of physicists, science communicators and educators from all CERN Member States, major particle physics laboratories and the LHC experiments, as well as some representatives from non-Member States like the USA and Australia, which is the newest member of IPPOG, officially voted in this year. Its main goal is to popularise the scientific method through a variety of outreach activities aimed at people of all ages. The final aim is to emphasise the importance of research and more specifically – what is the purpose of big laboratories like the LHC and Fermilab and why it is important to study the sub-atomic world and the laws that govern it.
