II.6 - Superconducting magnets
/ Ferracin, Paolo (LBNL, Berkeley)
This chapter summarizes the material covered on this subject during a course of about eight hours to provide an introduction on superconducting magnets for particle accelerators, and in particular dipole and quadrupole magnets, with low-temperature superconducting materials. The course, focusing on the basic principles, physical parameters, and analytical and numerical tools related to superconducting magnet design, is subdivided in five parts.

D and Ds decay constants from Nf=2+1 lattice QCD
/ Collins, Sara (Regensburg U.) ; Heitger, Jochen (Munster U.) ; Joswig, Fabian (Edinburgh U.) ; Kuberski, Simon (CERN ; Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Söldner, Wolfgang (Regensburg U.)
The D and Ds decay constants are important inputs for the determination of the CKM matrix elements |Vcd| and |Vcs| and for precision tests of the Standard Model. With lattice determinations of these quantities reaching the sub-percent level, it is important to demonstrate control over all sources of systematic uncertainty, and, in particular, those arising from discretisation effects and the quark mass dependence. B-physics observables in the continuum from a combination of static and relativistic results
/ Conigli, Alessandro (Helmholtz Inst., Mainz ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Frison, Julien (NIC, Zeuthen ; DESY) ; Fritzsch, Patrick (Trinity Coll., Dublin) ; Gérardin, Antoine (Marseille, CPT) ; Heitger, Jochen (Munster U.) ; Herdoiza, Gregorio (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Kuberski, Simon (CERN) ; Pena, Carlos (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Simma, Hubert (NIC, Zeuthen ; DESY)
We discuss how to perform interpolations between relativistic and static computations in order to extract heavy-light B-physics observables in the continuum. This strategy can be carried out entirely in large volume, but its predictivity is enhanced by the following step scaling approach. [...]

Towards a high-precision description of the ρ and K* resonances
/ Lachini, Nelson Pitanga (Edinburgh U. ; Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Boyle, Peter (Edinburgh U. ; Brookhaven) ; Erben, Felix (Edinburgh U. ; CERN) ; Gülpers, Vera (Edinburgh U.) ; Hansen, Maxwell T (Edinburgh U.) ; Joswig, Fabian (Edinburgh U.) ; Marshall, Michael (Edinburgh U.) ; Portelli, Antonin (Edinburgh U. ; CERN ; RIKEN AICS, Kobe)
We summarise our determination of the ρ and K∗ resonance parameters from lattice QCD at a physical pion mass. The methods for computing correlation functions and extracting energy levels from an RBC-UKQCD domain-wall fermion ensemble are reviewed. [...]
