The Effective Vector Boson Approximation in high-energy muon collisions / Ruiz, Richard (Cracow, INP) ; Costantini, Antonio (Louvain U., CP3) ; Maltoni, Fabio (Louvain U., CP3 ; INFN, Bologna) ; Mattelaer, Olivier (Louvain U., CP3)
Due to the inclination for forward gauge radiation, lepton colliders beyond a few TeV are effectively electroweak (EW) boson colliders, suggesting the treatment of EW bosons as constituents of high-energy leptons. In the context of a muon collider, we revisit the validity of W and Z parton distribution functions (PDFs) at leading order in 2 → n process. [...]

NLO electroweak corrections to multi-boson processes at a muon collider / Bredt, Pia M (DESY) ; Kilian, Wolfgang (Siegen U.) ; Reuter, Jürgen (DESY) ; Stienemeier, Pascal (DESY)
We present results on NLO electroweak (EW) corrections to multiple massive boson production processes at a future muon collider. Inclusive cross sections with $\mathcal{O}(\alpha)$ corrections for processes for up to four bosons in the final state as well as differential distributions for $HZ$ production are computed for $\sqrt{s}=3$, $10$ and $14$ TeV by using FKS subtraction in the NLO EW automated Monte-Carlo framework WHIZARD+RECOLA. LePDF: Standard Model PDFs for high-energy lepton colliders / Garosi, Francesco (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Marzocca, David (INFN, Trieste) ; Trifinopoulos, Sokratis (MIT, Cambridge, CTP)
The emission of collinear radiation off an elementary lepton can be factorised from the hard scattering process by introducing Parton Distribution Functions of a Lepton (LePDF), which, contrary to protons, can be derived from first principles. In case of multi-TeV lepton colliders, such as the muon colliders currently being proposed, the complete structure of Standard Model interactions must be taken into account. [...]

MACHINA, the Movable Accelerator for Cultural Heritage In-situ Non-destructive Analysis: project overview / Taccetti, F (INFN, Florence) ; Castelli, L (INFN, Florence) ; Chiari, M (INFN, Florence) ; Czelusniak, C (INFN, Florence) ; Falciano, S (INFN, Rome ; GSSI, Aquila) ; Fedi, M (INFN, Florence) ; Giambi, F (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) ; Mandò, P A (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) ; Manetti, M (INFN, Florence) ; Massi, M (INFN, Florence) et al.
Over the years, transportable instrumentation for cultural heritage (CH) in situ measurements has noticeably widespread, due to logistic, economical and safety reasons. Ion beam analysis, a powerful set of analytical techniques, of great importance for CH, is instead carried out by using fixed instrumentation. [...]

State of the Art in Cyclotrons for Radionuclide Production in Biomedicine / Marengo, Mario (Bologna U.) ; Cicoria, Gianfranco ; Infantino, Angelo (CERN) ; Vichi, Sara ; Zagni, Federico ; Mostacci, Domiziano (Bologna U.)
Cyclotrons are one of the most important sources of radionuclides used in biomedical applications. The production of important radionuclides used in single-photon emission tomography techniques such as 123I, 67Ga, 201Tl, and 111In has been based for decades on cyclotrons, typically proton machines with an energy up to 30 MeV. A Log Parsing Framework for ALICE O$^2$ Facilities / Marlaithong, Tinnakorn (KMUTT, Bangkok) ; Chibante Barroso, Vasco (CERN) ; Phunchongharn, Phond (KMUTT, Bangkok)
The ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) detector at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) generates a substantial volume of experimental data, demanding efficient online and offline processing. To enhance the stability and reliability of the ALICE computing system, this study introduces an Artificial Intelligence-based logging system designed to detect, identify, and resolve issues through the analysis of system runtime information contained in logs. FOCUS (Fast Monte CarlO approach to Coherence of Undulator Sources) is a new GPU-based simulation code to compute the transverse coherence of undulator radiation from ultra-relativistic electrons. The core structure of the code, which is written in the language C++ accelerated with CUDA, combines an analytical description of the emitted electric fields and massively parallel computations on GPUs. The onset of penetrative convection in an inclined porous layer / Arnone, Giuseppe (Naples U.) ; Cantini, Giulio (CERN ; Bath U.) ; Capone, Florinda (Naples U.) ; Carnevale, Mauro (CERN ; Bath U.)
In the present article, a model for penetrative convection in a fluid-saturated inclined porous medium is analyzed. Penetrative convection occurs when an unstably stratified fluid moves into a stably stratified region. In this study, it will be shown that the inclination of the layer plays a relevant role for the penetrative thermal convection of a fluid-saturated porous medium. [...]
