CHILD ALLOWANCE FOR CHILDREN AGED 18 AND OVER AND REIMBURSEMENT OF EDUCATION FEES

Human Resources Division wishes to draw the attention of members of personnel to paragraph 8 of Administrative Circular N° 5 (Dependent Child) and reminds them that if employment is taken up, the child is no longer considered dependent. In particular, the undertaking of teaching activities during the study period can be considered as taking up employment.
Human Resources Division also wishes to draw the attention of members of personnel to Article RIV 1.13 of the Regulations and reminds them that the amount of any financial benefits received from outside the Organization shall be deducted from the benefits paid by the Organization in the same area. Grants, allowances and salaries paid to trainees who benefit from the reimbursement of their education fees, will therefore be deducted from the amount paid by CERN.
